Massage Therapy in South East Cornwall.
Massage designed to make you move, feel and live better.
Massage therapy is not just what I do, but it is also what I love. My introduction to this industry started in 1994, when I qualified as a Beauty and Massage Therapist. I trained in London and worked in a variety of spas, gyms and hotels there and during this time, I was able to work alongside many talented therapists. Massage soon became my favourite treatment to give, for it has a powerful effect on peoples physical and mental health. But due to my own health problems, it was an industry I had to leave.
Then after a few years away, and recovered, I found myself wanting to return to massage therapy. However, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to provide a more functional approach to massage and sports massage seemed to be the way. Therefore, I went back to college in 2016 and from there, I trained as a Sports Massage Therapist, Reflexologist, and recently have undergone Oncology Massage training.
My role as a massage therapist is to support you in your recovery from injury or support you with chronic pain. Massage can help to calm the nervous system and provide temporary relief from pain signals. However, what perhaps play the greatest part of this process is listening to you as a client. During our first session, there is extra time given for me to listen and us to talk, so I can make sure I know exactly what you hope to achieve in terms of your physical health. Furthermore, as a member of the Sports Therapy Association, I stay up to date with the latest information and evidence about massage and manual therapies. This means you will receive a thoughtful and bespoke treatment, which will help your individual needs.

I chose South Phoenix Massage Therapy for my business name, as living in the historical mining village of Darite, I am within the Caradon Mining District (a UNECSO World Heritage Site). Within this beautiful area still stands the old South Phoenix engine house, which now serves as a heritage centre, for all to learn about East Cornwall’s rich mining past.
